Week 3 in Dublin: Braden Beagle

It’s hard to believe that another week has already gone by here in Dublin! This was probably are most jam packed week yet as we had a huge two night trip to the west coast of Ireland. The trip started off with a short bus ride to a place called “The Rock” which was basically just ruins of a castle but it had an incredible view so we took some group photos there. As we were taking the photos it started pouring down rain so we all tried to get back down to the bus as quickly as possible. The next bus ride we took was pretty far as we went to the cliffs of Moher next which were extremely high cliffs with an incredible view of the ocean right beneath it. We walked around for about an hour and a half there which was actually just the right amount of time to go to all the different cliffs as there were multiple ones. I made sure to take a lot of pictures as it was a once in a lifetime type of view.

After leaving the cliffs we had another far bus ride as we made our way to Galway. When we got there, I think we were all a bit surprised to find ourselves staying in a hostel with five other people in one room, but overall, it was a good experience to learn what that type of living environment is like. The second day of the trip we visited an island where we were able to eat lunch and then me and a group of others rode bikes to the other side of the island from where we originally were and got ice cream at a good ice cream shop. After that we got back to our hostel and then all had a fun time exploring the city. Then the third day of the trip we went and saw Kilmore Abbey which was really cool to see all of the history that went on there and it was cool that we learned about how there were nuns who still lived upstairs in the castle. After that we had a trip to a sheep farm which was definitely one of my favorite parts of our trip so far as we got to feed and hold some of the lambs that were on the farm. Overall, the two nights overnight trip was a great experience all around and I can’t wait for our other overnight trip to the north in a few weeks!
