Selina’s Week 3 Weekend Trip!

First overnight weekend trip in Ireland! We stopped by a few places, but our first location was the Cliff of Mohr. At first, I thought it was a cliff, nothing crazy because I hadn’t done any research before going. When we got there, I was amazed by how beautiful it was! We had the perfect weather where it wasn’t too cold or hot, and although it was quite a hike, it would be worth every moment! I took many photos and enjoyed a great time with my friends as we walked from one cliff to another, seeing multiple angles and views of this fantastic place. We also got to go onto a light-like building where we could view the entire cliff from a much higher point, seeing things that we would not have seen from a different angle.

After our trip to the Cliff of Mohr, everyone was starving and cant wait to get food. We stopped by a small town called Doolin, where we got our lunch for the day. I ordered the fish and chips because everyone told me how good they were and that they are a must-try when I’m in Europe. It was worth the wait for me! Despite being so basic and straightforward, it’s one of my favorite things to eat here in Ireland. I also enjoyed eating lunch with my friends while we talked about how we wanted the trip and what we planned on doing after arriving at Galway.

My Fish And Chips At Doolin!

It was a long drive before we got to Galway, where it was almost 7 pm when we arrived at our hostel. It was my first time being at a hostel; in fact, it was my first time knowing that it was a thing. Initially, I was unsure how I felt about the hostel because it was a new experience I’d never seen before. We had six people sharing one room, and it was crowded, but I thought it was fine at the end of the day. As great as living in a hotel would be, I felt that I was here to experience Ireland and European culture, which living in a hostel is absolutely part of it since you’d never see one in the United States. We enjoyed our night taking a beach walk and getting gelatos, where I could explore some of the city while also feeling relaxed.

The next day of our weekend trip, we went to Aran island, where my friends and I chose the bus tour. A bike tour would sound fun, but when the tour guide said you can go up to 50mph downhill on a bike, I knew it was not for me. I even joke that I don’t drive a car that fast; therefore, I would never ride a bike anywhere close to that. Because we were on the bus tour, we had some time before our bus came, so my friends and I stopped by a place for lunch! While we waited for our kid’s meal to come up, I noticed that the sun was making the water very shiny and pretty, so I took a few snapshots! When my kid’s fish and chip came up, It wasn’t as good as the one I got in Doolin, but it was still perfect! The bus tour was beautiful, and I do not regret taking the bus tour over the bike tour! We ended our trip with some ice cream, a must for us to relax and enjoy the environment. I am so excited about the trips that we will continue this trip!
