Week 6 Blog

Week 6 was another great one for the books.

This week we took a trip to Belfast, Ireland where we learned about the history of religion and the split between the 2 religions. We first stopped at the Titanic Museum which was super fun. We learned about the long hours, low wages and time it took to craft the Titanic. We even took a little ride within the museum. My favorite part of the museum was the end. It showed real original life jackets that were saved from the crash.

This is a lifejacket that was worn by a passenger aboard the Titanic.

It was also neat to know that Bucknell was named after one of our early benefactors William Bucknell. His wife, Emma Eliza Bucknell, was also a survivor of the Titanic sinking.

We then took a Black Taxi tour where we drove around and stopped at different significant murals and memorials. It was really interesting to see the differences between Northern Ireland and Dublin.

This is where we stopped to write our names on the peace wall that divided the two religions within Belfast.

This was my favorite stop during the tours, because it is a pretty amazing site. The walls were once used to separate and divide people and now it is visited by celeberties and millions of people to enfore peace. We got to sign our names and leave a little message about peace and hope.

The next day was pretty amazing. We went to an amazing rope bridge where the views were truly unbeatable.

This was the bridge we all crossed. (slowly)

After the bridge we then went on a 45 minute tour of Giant’s Causeway. The views were also amazing and the tour guide was hilarious. We got to listen to the tour guides and their improtant knowledge.

Here is the amazing view we had at the end of the tour.

(Im writing this on an empty stomach so this is hard for me) Here is Lauren and I’s pizza!
