Dublin Week 6: Braden Beagle

In Dublin this week we went on tons of fun new adventures that were just as exciting as the past weeks that I have been here! On Thursday evening, after my internship, me and some of my coworkers went out to a restaurant to hang out and celebrate the Fourth of July which was really fun as I got to know all of them a lot better than I already did! Following that after going back to my apartment, some of my friends and I went out to the town to also celebrate the fourth. Even though we’re not in America it was surprising to see how many people were out and about in the city. Then on Saturday I mostly just rested the whole day as I knew we had a big trip to Belfast planned for the following day.

On Sunday, we all got on the bus bright and early to head down to Belfast, when we first got there we got to see the Titanic Museum which was really cool as I learned a lot about the titanic and its relation to the city of Belfast. Then, we got to take a tour of the city in a taxi which was awesome as we got to learn about the deep history of Belfast, especially the feud between the Protestants and the Catholics. There’s even a huge wall we got to see in the city that divides it into two different parts so the Protestants and the Catholics can live separately as there tends to be a lot of conflict between the two groups. When we finally got back to the hotel we were staying at, I went to a really good Chinese restaurant with some friends and then we went out to explore since we were in a new city that we have never seen before.

Then the next day we left pretty early to go down and see the Carrick-a-Rope Bridge which had a really beautiful view of the ocean, but definitely was a little bit nerve wracking crossing it as it was extremely high up with just the ocean beneath us. Overall it was an extremely fun trip and honestly thought it was even more fun than the trip to Galway in my opinion, which we had just about a month ago. It’s also hard to believe we are almost done with the trip with just a few weeks left. I’m definitely sad that we’re going to be leaving soon but I’m also excited to see how fun these last few weeks are going to be here.

Hey Braden! It sounds like you had an incredible trip to Belfast. The Titanic Museum is such a fascinating place, isn’t it? The way it brings the Titanic story to life with all those immersive exhibits is really impressive. I love the picture that you took on the Titanic! And the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge—what a thrill! The views from up there are simply breathtaking. Hope you got some great photos. Did you manage to keep your balance, or was it a bit wobbly? Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures!
