Morgan Week 6 In Dublin

This Wednesday was our very own Kat’s Birthday. To celebrate, we went to an Italian restaurant for dinner. The dinner was in Temple bar area, which I actually have not spent much time exploring, so I was glad to be able to visit it a bit. At the restaurant, I got a risotto with lamb, which was absolutely delicious. I normally try to avoid eating veal and lamb, as I do not really like the idea of eating baby animal meat. It is a silly line to draw, but I just feel bad. However, since I know that lamb is a big thing in Ireland, I really wanted to try it at least once, so I decided to order it. The food was very good, however, I think I definitely liked the risotto part of the meal better than the lamb part. After dinner we went to a bar, and met up with Dean Kepner. This was a lot of fun, and it was super great to celebrate A friends birthday.

Friday

On Fridays, many of the people in my office do not really work in the office. As a result, there is often less for me and the other intern to do. As a result, when the other intern asked for a little longer of a lunch, our supervisor offered to have her be done for the rest of the day. Often, when they let one of us take a day off, the other also gets to leave, so they let me go at 2:00. This was nice, because it meant I had time to go to see Dublin Castle. I have been meaning to go and visit for a while, so I was glad that I finally made it. The castle was gorgeous, and I especially liked that it was kept up to be used even now. However, I had an early morning flight the next day, so I went to bed and got packed for the weekend.

Saturday

My Saturday started nice and early at 3am! a group of us were going to take a weekend trip to Glasgow Scotland. While the flight was early, I was super glad to have gotten the chance to see Scotland. we took a tour and saw loch lomond, pet highland cows, and also saw sterling castle. Afterwards, we went to dinner in the city. Then, it was time to go back to Dublin. This was definitely a short trip, but we got to see a lot, and made a lot of very nice memories.

Sunday

Back in the uk! after our one day trip to Scotland, we headed back to the united kingdom for the groups trip to northern Ireland. I was definitely tired this morning, but I got to sleep on the bus, so by the time we got to Belfast, I was fully recovered and ready to explore. the titanic museum was really cool, and it was crazy because I ran into the other intern from my job- what a small world. After, we ate lunch and took a black taxi tour. The black taxi tour was really cool because I was really struggling to get a complete grasp of the struggles, and how it continued to affect the city. This definitely provided this information, however, I was unsure how I felt about how clear what side the guide was on.
