Wednesday 7/10
This Wednesday, I was back to doing reviews of records. This entails going through sets of medical records, and picking out any time a specific phrase or topic comes up. This can be tedious, but I feel enjoy in because I can often see how this is going to contribute to the case, and really feel like I am having an affect on the case. At the same time, the nature of the cases I am working on is a bit rough. The records I go through are often medical or mental health records. This means that when I do these reviews, I see their progression through the Irish mental health system, and how they struggled. This can be kind of tough at times. However, I am glad to have gotten an experience working with cases of this nature, as I have wondered at times if I would be able to be someone who goes into a field of law that often feature sad stories – or if it would be too much for me. I haven’t made up my mind yet – but I do have a better Idea on how I handle this.
Saturday 7/13
This Saturday, we went on the Celtic valley tour. This was really cool because we got to see a lot of the most important historical sights in Celtic lore. I really enjoyed getting to see the stone of destiny, especially because we had learned about it in the second week in Dublin. As such, it felt kind of full circle to have our second to last class event (that is so sad to say) be at the stone. However, this Day trip was not all sun shine and rainbows. The Bus was a mess. The tour company had to rent it from some other company, and it was either broken, or the driver didn’t really know how it works. Long story short, I thought it was going to breakdown in the middle of the highway, and the bus was so hot I thought I was dying.
When we got back, It hit me that this was our last Saturday in Dublin as a group. It was really crazy to think about because I feel like the program started maybe two or three weeks ago. It still hasn’t really hit me that we are so close to the end of the program.

Sunday 7/14
On Sunday morning, I woke up and headed to the farmers market in Herbert park. I had gone once before, and loved the market, but was sad because some of the vendors were out of certain things. I also had a plan of getting my grandpa red current jam from this one stall. I went by myself, which is one thing I have begun to love doing over this trip. Before Ireland, I was much more comfortable doing everything with someone. For me, everything was always better with company. However, over this summer I have realized that while I still love going to do things with friends, I also really enjoy venturing off and doing them alone. After the farmers market, I met up with Stella and Aliyah to go shopping for our trips during the free weekend.
Monday
On Monday, we went to Howth, a coastal town to the north of Dublin. I found the town to be really cute, but the views were absolutely stunning. We walked through the woods – and the stinging nettles – to a gorgeous viewpoint. After our hike, many of us got lunch at a nice resturant in town. I got the fish and chips, which were absolutely delicious.
