Friday
This Friday we left UCD campus early in the morning to depart to the west coast of Ireland. I was particuarly excited for this trip because many of my friends and family that have been to Ireland say that the prettiest part of the country is the west coast. I also was excited to see the cliffs of Moher. The princess bride is my favorite movie, so I was super excited to see one of the filming location in person. This first day definitely met my expectations. The cliffs were actually so stunning, I probably took about a million photos. I was also super happy that the weather was so nice. I have heard that it is often super foggy and hard to see, but that was definitely not the case when we went. Other than the wind, which is probably unavoidable when at a cliff near the Atlantic ocean, the weather was absolutely beautiful. In the gift shop I got a few post cards to send home (if you are one of my friends/family at home, you didn’t see this), and a really cute seramic recreation of the Cliffs. After we continued along the coast to Galway. It was definitely a lot of driving, but there was always a nice view. When we arrived in Galway, it was almost 8 O clock, as we were running a bit behind schedule. As a result, I struggled a bit to find food, as a lot of places closed their kitchen at 8. Ultimately Aliyah and I found a seafood place, and had a really delicious dinner.

Saturday
Saturday was definitely an early morning, especially after a long day of traveling. However, I managed to make it to a cafe before we had to get on the bus. I got a croissant, and an Iced Latte. This was probably the best Iced latte I have ever had. Like I genuinely think it might my favorite thing I have had since getting to Ireland. After another long bus ride, we arrived to a ferry that would take us to the aran islands. I had not done much research and thought this would be an easy 5 to 10 minute trip, on calm waters. I was wrong. On this ferry I was fighting for my life. Shout out to Mrs. Wilck for the drammamine, because if it wasn’t for that, I definitely would have gotten to experienced my iced latte again, only the wrong way. Anyways, after the ferry ride we biked across the island. it was definitely more of a workout than I had anticipated, and I was once again reminded that I do not enjoy biking. That being said, the island was really pretty, and I enjoyed taking in the views as I went. I also got some very good gelato for my troubles. The ferry ride back was definitely more bearable, which was definitely a relief.
Sunday

Sunday morning we left Galway, and because I had not gotten to spend much time in the city itself, I decided to go for a walk around. I went and saw the port, and then meandered along the main touristy streets. It was so pretty, and I wish I had gotten more time to explore while things were open. Oh well, I guess I will just have to come back (and then I can get another latte). On the way, we stopped at Kylemore abby, which was stunning. I particularly like the gardens, they were so well maintained! By this point, I was pretty tired, so I napped a bit on the next sections of the drive, which I do sort of regret, as it was so pretty. Our final stop of the weekend was a sheep farm, it was so cool getting to see all the lambs!
