This weekend was hands down one of my most memorable weekends in Ireland, and probably in my life. This is because I got to go to the Taylor Swift concert on Saturday night.
For over two years now I have been trying, and failing, to get tickets to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour. I have tried in multiple different cities, states and countries, but they have always sold out. I am lucky enough to be in Dublin at the same time that Taylor Swift is doing her European leg of the tour. When I found out she was coming to Dublin, I registered on seven different devices for presale tickets, and still could not get them.
A few weeks ago, my mom sent me a link to a super sketchy website called TicketNetwork, where people are reselling their Taylor Swift tickets. It was sketchy because Ireland does not allow resale but there were still resale tickets being sold on this website. I acted under impulsivity, and bought a very good, very expensive seat for Taylor Swift.
For weeks and weeks, I was so anxious about my ticket being fact. Everyone that I told was telling me it was going to be fake and that I was going to lose all of my money. Then, three days before the concert, I got an email saying that my tickets got transferred to Ticketmaster, ensuring that they are real. I was sitting in the kitchen, looking at my phone, about to cry because of how relieved and happy I was.
When Saturday night came, I entered Aviva Stadium and started crying. At this point, I was obviously crying because I was happy, but most importantly, I was crying because my dream of the last two years was coming to life and I was so so relieved that this time had finally come.
I have been to many concerts in my lifetime, and to say this concert was the best one is an understatement. Nothing could have prepared me for how amazing her 3 ½ hour set was going to be. I was surrounded by the nicest people, in the coolest atmosphere, and genuinely was so happy. I knew every single song and met amazing people. I would spend any amount of money to go to that concert again. I would recommend going to see Taylor Swift to anyone, even if they do not know her songs. It is a one of a kind experience.
