This past week in Dublin my mom and little sister came to visit. I was so excited for them to come so I could take them to all of my favorite spots. Their first night here. I brought them to Grafton street and had dinner at the Hairy Lemon. My Big is doing an internship program in Dublin and the next night we were able to meet her at dinner at my favorite restaurant ryleigh’s. One of our first nights here our apartment went out to dinner at ryleigh’s and unanimously agreed that when our parents made the trip over we had to make them take us back. I can say with absolute certainty that I have never had a better bowl of french fries in my entire life.
Over the weekend we took a trip to scotland. I am not the biggest fan of flying but it was well worth it. Although I get most of my information about trips on tik tok I loved being able to look up restaurants and places I wanted to try out. While we were there we got to see Edinburgh castle, the national portrait gallery, the museum of modern art, dean village and many other historic monuments. While walking to dean village we heard music coming out of a storefront that was beneath the street. We walked down the steps and found ourselves in an artist’s graffiti studio. The artists Sleek and Rob spoke to us about all the different techniques they use from graffiti to printmaking and how they combine their skills to make collages. They also explained each piece of art to us and showed us pictures from exhibitions they have all over the world. Despite us ending up there being a complete accident it was some of the most amazing art I have ever seen. The way they combined their unique skills to make so many unique pieces was incredible. One night we ate dinner at Bread street ong of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants. My little sister wants to be a chef when she grows up and loves Gordon Ramsay, so being able to go there with her was such a fun experience.
When we got back on Sunday I was able to bring my mom to the temple bar area and buy her first baby Guinness which she reluctantly sipped on instead of taking it as a shot. After a day of shopping we walked to another restaurant tik tok led me to called Mama Yo which definitely made it to the top of the list of best chinese restaurants I have ever been to. On our last night for dinner we went to Sophie’s with Ivy and Lilly. Once again the food was unreal but more so the drink Ivy recommended to us… The best drink I have ever had. I don’t think I have ever eaten as much as I did this past week but seeing my family and taking them to all the best spots along with trying new spots all over Ireland and Scotland was amazing.
