Wow! It is crazy to think that we are already on week 7 of this program, it felt like we just got here. I have enjoyed my time here to the fullest, and will remember all of these memories for the rest of my life. I am very grateful for this opportunity, and look forward to sharing my memories.
This past weekend we visited the Hill of Tara, the Tomb Passageway, the Trim Castle, and the Hill of Uisneach. Like usual, I was taken away by the amazing scenery, and the history that inhabits all of these different places. One thing that stuck out to me on this trip was the Hill of Uisneach, and how it is one of the highest points in Ireland. Our guide was telling us that we could see 10 different counties from that very point. I find it very cool that at various attractions in Ireland, you can always find molten coins in between rocks. I am not sure what they symbolize, but it is very interesting.
Later that week, my grandparents came and visited me for a couple of days. It was really good to see them and show them around Ireland. They stayed at the Shelbourne Hotel, near Saint Stephen Green’s Park. The first day, I met them at their hotel, and we got dinner at Fire Steakhouse, which was really good. The next day, we played golf at the Royal Golf Club. This was an amazing experience, and one I will not take for granted. It was a links style course, which I had never played before. It was very windy, which made for some hard shots. We also had a caddy, which was really nice, with him telling us the right club and where to aim. Renting clubs was also a challenge I had to overcome, because I had never used them before, which took a few holes to adjust too. After the round was over, we got a drink upstairs and called it a day.
Fast forward to Monday, it was time for the Howth Cliff Walk. This place was a little further away, so we had to take a bus, along with the train. We didn’t want to make the same mistake as last time and be late, so we left extra early. We got there in plenty of time, and even got some pizza before the hike. The tour guide had the same breed dog as me, so that was cool to connect with him about. The hike lasted about 3 hours, and went through some rough terrain. I made the mistake of wearing shorts, so I had some rashes up my leg. The end of the hike was especially pretty, as we were walking up and down the cliffs, looking out to the Irish Sea.

Hey William Shoemaker,
What a fantastic write-up about our cliff walk in Howth! It was an incredible experience exploring the breathtaking views and feeling the fresh sea breeze together. The adventure was made even better with the “Mystery Drink” crew – can’t beat the camaraderie we share.
The highlight of the day had to be our impromptu “Mystery Spritz” performance at the restaurant. The look on everyone’s faces was priceless! Here’s to many more unforgettable outings and mysterious drink concoctions with Connor, Bennet, Frank, and you.
