My past week here has been a bit different than my other weeks here in Dublin as I wasn’t able to go on the excursion this past Saturday. I was a bit sad that I wasn’t able to go on the hike as it seemed really cool and seemed like it had a lot of awesome views. The reason I wasn’t able to go on a hike was because I was feeling pretty sick when I woke up and knew that exercising and hiking a ton probably wouldn’t help my case and I still wanted to be able to go into my internship fresh these past couple of days. Since I was sick, I wasn’t able to do much that day, but it was definitely nice to have a day just to reset and chill. I was also pretty sick Sunday as well, so I wasn’t able to do much that day either.
For Monday, I had already signed up to take off the prior week as I was planning to be able to explore some of the city on my own during the daytime as I haven’t been able to do that yet since I’ve been here. I walked around some different areas that were a bit further away and not in the heart of Dublin where we have not had any excursions. I walked around a good amount and also went to a really good lunch spot that was a Chinese Street food place. It was really fun to get to see the rest of the city as we don’t have that much time here left.
I also wanted to talk about what I do on campus usually just on a normal day basis as well as I have mostly just been talking about the excursions in my blogs. The campus here is really beautiful and I get to see a lot of it as I walk to and from work as my work is actually on campus technically. It’s about a twenty minute walk from our apartment. On the walk I get to walk by some cool soccer cages that are really cool and get to see people playing soccer a lot of the time (or should I say football), and I also walk by the pool that I have swam at here since I swim at Bucknell and need to keep my training up. Overall, this week hasn’t been the most exciting just because I wasn’t able to go on the excursions but it was still nice seeing the city!
