Wrapping Up

I cannot believe we are cherishing the final days here in Ireland. This has been the fastest 8 weeks, and I am so happy I got to experience everything that I did. Coming here, I had a lot of worries about moving into a new country, and adapting to a new normal. It is safe to say that I overcame all of those doubts very quickly, and absolutely loved my time here. I gained new friendships that will last a lifetime, and look forward to continuing them back on campus. The internship was also a great experience for me, getting some knowledge and wisdom under my belt. It is going to be bitter sweet leaving campus on Saturday, but going to remember this trip forever.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of seeing my dad and older brother. It has been nice to have visitors, with my grandparents visiting last weekend. With 7 weeks under my belt, I was able to show them everything I knew, and all of the good places within the city. They were staying at the Shelbourne Hotel in the Saint Stephen Green area. This is a great location, with many restaurants and pubs around. It is also near Grafton Street, the main shopping district. We spent most of our time walking through Grafton, experiencing all that has to offer. We went to FIRE steakhouse, which was one of my favorite spots in the entire city.

We then did the Howth Cliff Walk, for the second time! We did an alternate route, which was a little bit more peaceful and easy. We had a different tour guide, and gained a different perspective than the last one.

We then did the Guinness and Jameson factories. I had already done the Guinness, so their was not much of a suprise, but was still cool. Personally, I liked the Jameson a little bit better because it was more personable and their was a tasting room. Both of these places made it really easy to learn how its made and where it came from.

I am sad leaving Dublin, and am very grateful to have expierenced such a great country!
