I actually can not believe that it is the last week. This has been the first summer in all my 21 years, where I spent more time in Europe than in the United States. From finishing up finals on May 9, to July 23, the date I am writing this final blog, I have spent a total of 68 days in various European countries and only 7 days in the United States. The experiences and people that I have met along this journey have permanently changed my ideologies and identity. Greece, Ireland, and the Netherlands, the countries I traveled to […]

Switching Things Up A routine allows for structure. I am an avid fan of setting routines. The routines I established allow for balance and prosperity in my life. However, in some cases, there needs to be room for exploration. It is human nature to gravitate more towards comfortability. People feel safe in a comfortable environment. True growth occurs when one becomes comfortable with being uncomfortable. In my opinion, “a routine”, is ambiguous. Are people repeating habits because it is a proven formula for success or because they fear the unknown? Dublin is a massive city filled with endless opportunities. With […]
An Clár! This past Saturday, I attended the All-Ireland Hurling Semi Finals at one of the largest and most iconic sports stadiums in Europe, Croke Park. Having the opportunity to see Kilkenny square off against Clare live was thrilling. From research, I discovered that both teams heading in were evenly matched. However, my coworkers recommended to support Clare. While cheering on Clare during the match, I noticed how passionate both county’s fanbases were. It was truly a battle until the final minute which made the game that much more riveting. These gentlemen, who receive no pay for playing, sacrificed everything […]
Views From the Irish House Party There was no better way to kick off the start of week five with a trip to The Irish House Party: Irish Music and Irish Dancing in Dublin. The event was a vibrant and authentic celebration of traditional Irish culture. It featured old-fashioned music, dancing, and storytelling. The Irish House Party showcases talented musicians and dancers performing classic Irish tunes and steps. The main dancer for the night, Erin, hypnotized me with her taps and aggressively high leg kicks. I enjoyed during the show when each musician played their instrument individually for the audience. […]
Touring the Jeanie Johnston Week 4 commenced with a tour of the Jeanie Johnston. This vessel became renowned for its role during the Great Famine in Ireland. Unlike many other ships, often referred to as “coffin ships” due to the high mortality rates among emigrants, the Jeanie Johnston earned a reputation for safety. Between 1848 and 1855, it made 16 transatlantic voyages, carrying over 2,500 Irish emigrants to North America, without a single loss of life. This would not have been accomplished without Captain James Attridge and the onboard medical care provided by Dr. Richard Blennerhassett. The ship’s successful voyages […]
