Margaret Williams – Dublin Week 8

Last blog! Ahh! I can’t believe we’re actually at the end of our trip. It feels like we’ve been going a hundred miles an hour lately, so it’s just now starting to sink in that I’ll be home in less than 72 hours. For our last weekend abroad, a group of us skipped town and headed to Amsterdam. We boarded a ridiculously early flight on Friday morning, so when we arrived in the Netherlands the name of the game was staying awake. We explored the city a bit, recharged our batteries, and baffled at the heat – a rude awakening […]

Margaret Williams – Dublin Week 7

To be honest, this week was a bit of a blur. As our trip winds down, I’ve felt various pressures of trying to see and do everything in Dublin, spend as much time with new friends as possible, tie up any loose internship ends, and get our (long!) assignments in on time, all while managing ever-piling exhaustion. That said though, I wouldn’t change a thing; I feel so lucky to be overwhelmed by fun, exciting things day after day, and I know I will miss it all the second I step on the plane next Saturday. Margaret Williams – Dublin Week 6

Each week when I sit down to write this blog, I marvel at how much time has passed in what feels like the blink of an eye. On the way to our final stop, 37 Dawson Street, the third of July slipped into the fourth, and we ran down the street singing the National Anthem and “Party in the USA.” Without a doubt […]

Margaret Williams – Dublin Week 5

Another fun week in the books! I can’t believe we’re officially past the halfway point and now have less than four weeks left of our trip.  Last Thursday we attended an Irish House Party, which involved dinner, drinks, and some live music and dancing. It was nice being with everyone and I LOVED the music. It’s fun to watch people take the stage and just enjoy one another’s company and what they’re performing together. They played all sorts of songs, from traditional reels to more popular (and recognizable) songs like Molly Malone and Isle of Hope, which is about the […]

Margaret Williams – Dublin Week 4

I cannot believe we are coming up on the halfway point already – this trip has flown by! It feels like just yesterday I was figuring out the leap card and nervously navigating the route to my office. I feel like I’ve definitely hit my stride by this point, and I am more and more settled each week. That said, this week was a bit more relaxed which was much appreciated on my end. Our weekend trip was a quick day out to County Tipperary and County Cork to see the Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle, and Cahir Castle. The […]
