Enfin, le week-end libre! For the free weekend, Aliyah and I decided to go to France! We stayed in Antibes and spent our four days traveling all across the Côte d’Azur (French Riveria), Monaco, and even Italy! Day 1: Antibes We landed in Nice Côte d’Azur Airport at noon after a chaotic connecting flight in the huge Charles De Gaulle Airport. We braved French public transportation and took the bus to our Airbnb. We did make it to the Airbnb that was amazingly small, but nonetheless very cute. If I ever choose to sell a house, I would want our […]
This weekend, we got to see the cherished Hill of Tara that we learned about in our first few weeks here. I touched the Stone of Destiny and have to sadly announce that I am not the rightful King of Ireland. Surprising, right? On the way from the Hill of Tara to Trim Castle, I saw my first cow crossing, which was a delightful surprise during our long and sweaty bus ride. The interior of one of the castle ruins was stunning as flowers were growing out of the cracks. Our next stop was the Loughcrew Passage Tomb. To get […]
Week 6 was a long one. In the span of three days, I was in Scotland, Ireland, and Northern Ireland. As this is my first time in Europe, I made it a goal to travel as much as possible, and I have been doing just that. I can’t say that traveling to Scotland in the dead of night after a long night was amazing, but my tour of Scotland made up for it. A group of us participated in a bus tour where we were driven all around Scotland and got a boat tour. Yes, the scenery and architecture are […]
Unlike my other four weeks, I spent the weekend out of Ireland. After a rough wake-up call at 3 a.m., Kayla and I caught a bus to the airport to fly to Skiathos, Greece! Greece is officially my favorite country I have ever visited. Being away from the more touristy towns allowed us to talk to the locals and not be overwhelmed by crowds. We spent one night in Skiathos, filling our day with shopping, eating, and relaxation. Our final destination was Skopelos, better known as Mamma Mia Island, so we had cabs, ferries, and flights to catch. After being […]
This week, I got to explore new parts of Ireland! With the school, we drove through Cork to see the Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle, and Cahir Castle. Cork looked similar to Dublin with the river flowing through the center of the city and the beautifully colored buildings lining the streets. I would definitely want to come back and actually go into the city next time! My most memorable part of the weekend was Blarney Castle! The 90-minute wait from here sign made we want to turn around and leave, but there was no way I could come all the way […]
