Dublin’s Hundred Acre Wood

“How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard” Winnie the Pooh This has, and always will be, one of my favorite quotes and I think it perfectly describes my attitude toward this final week. I feel so incredibly blessed that I was given the opportunity to experience something like this. Thank you to everyone who played a part in my getting here, words cannot express my gratitude for you all. And to the people who have been by my side these last two months, thank you, too. You are the craziest, kindest, funniest, most caring […]

Week 7 Reflection

As sad I am that our time in Dublin has nearly run out, I’m beyond grateful for the memories and friendships I’ve created here. For my blog post this week I wanted to reminisce on a few of my favorite moments since the second I walked into apartment thirteen on June 1st. Per Cat’s request, a big group of us headed out to a small Italian bistro just past St. Stephen’s Green. Our waiter, bless his heart, was incredibly patient with our failure to accurately pronounce menu items and the laundry list of allergies we […]

My Wallet and Stomach Hurt

My funds are dwindling and my entire digestive system could use a week long juice cleanse. Regardless of the fact I’m in desperate need of a GI, I’ve never had so much fun in my life. I spent this past week, both on my own and with friends, doing more exploring than I think I have this entire trip (which is saying a lot). My week began with a solo sushi date immediately followed by hot yoga and a run around campus. What a way to kick off the week, right?! All jokes aside, I loved getting to reset on […]

Be Where Your Feet Are

I have a tendency to get overwhelmed by the prospect of new experiences because of their unpredictable nature. If I know what’s going to happen then I can prepare myself to maintain some level of control over a given situation. If I don’t, I catastrophize. I had a similar mindset during the months leading up to this trip. It sounded great on paper, but what was the reality of it? Rather than focusing on the time I had left at home, I worried about what things would be like once I got to Dublin. One of the biggest lessons I’ve […]
