I cannot believe we are cherishing the final days here in Ireland. This has been the fastest 8 weeks, and I am so happy I got to experience everything that I did. Coming here, I had a lot of worries about moving into a new country, and adapting to a new normal. It is safe to say that I overcame all of those doubts very quickly, and absolutely loved my time here. I gained new friendships that will last a lifetime, and look forward to continuing them back on campus. The internship was also a great experience for me, getting […]
Wow! It is crazy to think that we are already on week 7 of this program, it felt like we just got here. I have enjoyed my time here to the fullest, and will remember all of these memories for the rest of my life. I am very grateful for this opportunity, and look forward to sharing my memories. This past weekend we visited the Hill of Tara, the Tomb Passageway, the Trim Castle, and the Hill of Uisneach. Like usual, I was taken away by the amazing scenery, and the history that inhabits all of these different places. One […]
Looking back at this past week, we were really all over the country. This week consisted of touring the Guinness Storehouse and concluding the week by visiting Northern Ireland. Each week that has passed during this trip has gone faster and faster. It is making me sad just thinking we only have about 2 weeks left in Ireland. The Guinness Storehouse was something that I was looking forward to before this trip, and it did not disappoint int a single bit. The first thing that struck me was the beautiful gate at the entrance, and the surrounding area. Our tour […]
Week 5 was definitely one to remember! From listening to classical Irish music, to showing up very late to the Gaelic games, and finally touring the Guinness Storehouse. It was a very fast paced week, immersing us more and more into the Irish culture. We started the weekend off by attending the Irish House Party. We started the night by having a very good 3 course meal, which was followed by a very good show. There were 4 people in the band, each contributing to the incredible performance. I forget the name of the song, but one of them caught […]
As we wrap up week 3, there is a lot to look back on, continuing to explore Dublin. This past week, we attended a fairy storytelling, got a great dinner at the Royal Merchant, attended the Blarney and Cahir castle. Saturday was a very eventful day learning about different castles, and how they were used in history. After work on Thursday, I was planning on catching the 77A bus to head towards city centre, but that did not go as planned. As I was waving the bus down, the bus switched it’s sign to “out of service”, so I had […]
