Evan Miserendino Week 8 Blog: The Free Weekend

I actually can not believe that it is the last week. This has been the first summer in all my 21 years, where I spent more time in Europe than in the United States. From finishing up finals on May 9, to July 23, the date I am writing this final blog, I have spent a total of 68 days in various European countries and only 7 days in the United States. The experiences and people that I have met along this journey have permanently changed my ideologies and identity. Greece, Ireland, and the Netherlands, the countries I traveled to […]

Week Eight Blog

I can’t believe that this week is my last week in Dublin. I am so grateful to Dr. Alexander for encouraging me to apply, Professor Wilck and Dean Kepner for the enticing courses, my peers for making this trip memorable, and my parents for supporting me in my adventures and coming to visit me and my family. I spent the free weekend in the Netherlands visiting my extended family. My journey was a challenge, and I had several opportunities to practice problem solving, positive thinking, and patience. On Friday, I woke up at 5:30am for my 6:30am Air Coach bus […]

Max Quan: Ireland Week 8

At 3AM my alarm went off. I groggily woke up, rolled out of bed, and walked to the taxi. A couples hours later I was on a plane headed towards the Netherlands. The weekend was packed with different museums, day trips, and food. In particular, Amsterdam is a beautiful city (if you can ignore the large piles of trash), and the canals surrounding it make for a surreal experience. (Landscape Painting from the Rijksmuseum) When booking tours and and activities in Amsterdam, we looked at two art museums: Van Gough and the Rijksmuseum. We went with the Rijksmuseum for two […]

The End

This summer has been nothing short of amazing. My parents recently visited Dublin, and together, we went on an unforgettable trip to Barcelona. The culture, delicious food, and warm Mediterranean sun made it a trip to remember. Our adventure in Barcelona was filled with exciting activities. One of the highlights was taking a cooking class where we learned to make authentic paellas. The rich smells of saffron and fresh seafood filled the air as we cooked, and the final product was delicious. Sharing this experience with my parents was truly special, and it’s a memory we’ll cherish for years to […]

Cassidy Cook: Ireland Week 7

Hiya! This week wasn’t as interesting as the other ones, but a good one nonetheless. Let’s get into it:  After such a fun weekend in Belfast, I was definitely a little reluctant to start the work week again. This week we hosted a ton of super fun events, one of which included a new event called Morsels & Meaning with one of our members Sula. Sula is such a kind soul and I light up whenever I see her. She prepared five traditional Palestinian dishes which were all INCREDIBLE. They are super easy to make and extremely nutritious. Sula did […]

Ireland Week 7 Blog:

Week seven in Ireland trekked along like the previous weeks. At my internship, I continued progressing on what I had been working on over the past few weeks. I also got the chance to perform research analysis of the organization I had spent my summer working for.  For our weekend trip on Saturday we went on the Celtic Boyne Valley Tour. On the tour, the first stop was the Hill of Tara. Considered to be one of the most sacred sites in all of Ireland, it was also thought of as the country’s center because many of the previous kings […]
