Margaret Williams – Dublin Week 7

To be honest, this week was a bit of a blur. As our trip winds down, I’ve felt various pressures of trying to see and do everything in Dublin, spend as much time with new friends as possible, tie up any loose internship ends, and get our (long!) assignments in on time, all while managing ever-piling exhaustion. That said though, I wouldn’t change a thing; I feel so lucky to be overwhelmed by fun, exciting things day after day, and I know I will miss it all the second I step on the plane next Saturday. Deadlines that I naively […]

Madelyn’s Week 7 Blog

Beanhive Coffee If there is one thing I’ve learned from my time in Dublin city center, it’s that there are plenty of places to eat. My friends and I discovered this little lunch place on Dawson Street called Beanhive. It has some great sandwiches, and they draw cute cartoons on their lattes. Although I have only been twice, I already have my order down. I like to get ‘the perfect combo” sandwich with a strawberry smoothie. This place is convenient to get lunch at because it is right off the 39A bus and has a lot of shopping and attractions […]

Stella Chang:Week 7

This weekend, we got to see the cherished Hill of Tara that we learned about in our first few weeks here. I touched the Stone of Destiny and have to sadly announce that I am not the rightful King of Ireland.  Surprising, right? On the way from the Hill of Tara to Trim Castle, I saw my first cow crossing, which was a delightful surprise during our long and sweaty bus ride. The interior of one of the castle ruins was stunning as flowers were growing out of the cracks.  Our next stop was the Loughcrew Passage Tomb. To get […]

Week 7 Reflection

As sad I am that our time in Dublin has nearly run out, I’m beyond grateful for the memories and friendships I’ve created here. For my blog post this week I wanted to reminisce on a few of my favorite moments since the second I walked into apartment thirteen on June 1st. Night One: My new roommates and I were all sitting around the table eating our first homecooked meal as an apartment. Everyone was laughing, choking down their near inedible meals, and preparing for our first night on the town. When I finally went to my room to get […]

Week 7

A Week of Family, Adventure, and Unexpected Events This past week was a whirlwind of emotions, family bonding, and an unexpected hospital visit. It all began on Saturday when my parents came to visit. We kicked off the weekend with a Celtic Boyne Valley Day trip with my classmates, an experience that was as super enjoyable. The day was filled with fascinating history, stunning landscapes, and a deep dive into Celtic culture. We wandered through ancient sites, learning about the rich tapestry of the Boyne Valley’s past. The weather was perfect, and the shared experience brought us closer together. Celtic […]

Jack Codding – Ireland Week 7

For week 7 we had trips that were different from our usual itinerary. For this week’s trips, we mostly went on hikes and saw the scenic areas of Ireland. We hiked around the Hill of Uisneach which is considered to be very connected to mythology and historical significance. The hill is also associated with the legendary figure Eochaid Airem and is one of the royal sites of Gaelic Ireland. The hill also holds ceremonial value to the Irish as it was used as a place to for the Uisneach Fire Festival was held. This fire was used to mark the […]
